Situated near to Walsingham and next to a 10th century East Barsham Manor where
Henry VIII stayed prior to the reformation to begin his pilgrimage to Walsingham,
the White Horse Inn (of C17th origin) has historical and famous pilgrim connection's
from the crusades. Henry III, Edward I & III, and Cromwell through to today,
a traditionalist delight this grade II listed pub combines a fully serviced friendly
restaurant open all week and serving countryside size portions and Sunday lunches
(split into non smoking and smoking area's). Suitable for all celebrations, with
its cosy log-burning inglenook fireplace and oak beamed bar for those just looking
to have a chat and a drink.
Situated near the coast The White Horse Inn is the ideal base to explore many
of Norfolk's best tourists sites, even if you're just up for the day. For those
looking to stay longer we have first class accommodation upstairs in our three
double bedrooms all with bath/shower room en suite, tea and coffee making facilities
and remote control TV's. There is also a private guest entrance, a telephone
and full central heating.
Within 8 miles are beautiful sandy beaches, bird watching, good walking, fishing
and 5 golf courses are all within easy reach. Many country houses, including
Holkham and Hougton hall, are a short drive away. One could also visit Norwich,
the historic capital of Norfolk and a fine Norman city to tour and shop.
